Tania Bruderer

Program Coordinator - Statesville Road Elementary School

Tania Bruderer (born/adopted from Brazil, raised by Swiss parents) grew up in South Carolina, graduated college at Winthrop University and then moved to Miami to serve with City Year Miami as an AmeriCorps member. She was a math interventionist providing small group instruction to 4th and 5th graders as well as supporting the 5th grade math teacher in the classroom. Tania served another year with AmeriCorps in Miami (Reading Corps) then headed off to Thailand to teach English for 5 months. Afterwards, she completed her Master’s Degree in English Language Arts at Boston University and served 2 more years with AmeriCorps (Literacy First) in Austin. During the pandemic year, she worked with middle schoolers as an ESL Paraprofessional in science and math. She then made her way back to the Carolinas just in time to become a program coordinator with Heart Math Tutoring. Tania believes that math is possible for all students, especially with that one-on-one support from a tutor who is also a mentor and positive role model for them.
