Program Coordinator - Montclaire Elementary
Liz, a Philadelphia native, has lived in Charlotte for over 25 years. After graduating with a B.S. in Applied Math from Brown University and an M.S. in Operations Research from Columbia University, Liz worked as an information systems engineer. Watching with fascination as her own children learned to read and work with numbers, she became a teacher, teaching high school math in both public and private schools for 15 years. A few years ago, Liz was looking for new ways to make an impact on student learning, and after volunteering as a Heart tutor, she joined the Heart staff as a Program Coordinator. Liz believes that all children can become confident and successful in math given appropriate instruction and support.
