Heart Receives Education Grant From Charlotte Hornets Foundation, Lowe’s
11.23.2015The Charlotte Hornets Foundation and Lowe’s Education Grant program awarded a total of $50,000 to Heart Math Tutoring and five other local organizations to support high-need education-related projects.
Heart Math Tutoring received a $5,000 grant in support of its math intervention program in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for 2016-17. Executive Director Emily Elliott and a second grade Heart student from Billingsville Leadership Academy accepted the grant during the check presentation ceremony during halftime at the Charlotte Hornets game Nov. 20 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Staff Spotlight: Krystyna Sarrazin, Program Coordinator At Sedgefield Elementary
11.09.2015Krystyna Sarrazin, who joined Heart Math Tutoring in August 2015, is the Program Coordinator at Sedgefield Elementary.
A Chicago native, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations at Marquette University in Milwaukee and a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Management from DePaul University in Chicago. In Racine, Krystyna was the annual giving director for a healthcare system, Executive Director of the Young Professionals, and a district alderman.

Heart Math Tutoring Featured On Charlotte Talks
11.04.2015Charlotte Talks, one of the region’s top news talk programs, featured Heart Math Tutoring and other innovative math programs in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in its Nov. 3 broadcast.
The hourlong show featured Emily Elliott, Heart’s Executive Director, host Mike Collins and guests Tim Chartier, associate professor of mathematics and computer science at Davidson College, and Kaneka Turner, an elementary math specialist at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
