Racing to 100 Tutors Across the Carolinas!

Heart volunteers are currently providing math instruction and mentorship to over 1,300 students across Charlotte, Charleston, and Winston-Salem! We are grateful for Heart tutors and proud of the progress students have made. We want all students who were nominated by their teachers this school year to have access to one-on-one tutoring, and we need the community’s help.

On January 3^rd, Heart is launching Race to 100, a volunteer recruitment campaign to find 100 additional volunteers willing to spend 1 hour a week supporting students! We encourage previous and prospective tutors to sign up as volunteers, and we ask current tutors to help spread the word!

Use the ideas below to help Heart Race to 100 more tutors and students meeting together across the Carolinas by the end of February 2025!

Become a tutor!

If you haven’t already, make it your New Year’s resolution to sign up to support a student for 30 minutes or 1 hour a week during the remainder of the 2024/25 school year. Share in-person! (Current Tutors)

There will be Volunteer Tutor business cards and yard signs at school sites for in-person tutors to pick up throughout January. Please take some business cards to share with friends and a sign to put in your yard to recruit your friends, neighbors, and colleagues in joining you as a volunteer this year!
