Barings Supports Elementary Students with Donation
01.23.2018We are excited to announce a generous donation to Heart Math Tutoring from Barings! In addition to their partnership through volunteer engagement, Barings is now helping Heart reach more schools next year through financial support! At each Heart school, 50-80 students will receive one-on-one tutoring from late September to early May.

Support for Heart Tutoring Surpasses Record and Brings Program to 17 CMS School Partners
09.26.2017CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sept. 26, 2017 – Heart Math Tutoring (Heart) – a Charlotte nonprofit dedicated to helping students in high-poverty elementary schools develop math skills and academic confidence – wrapped up its Spring Funding Initiative with the largest amount raised to date: $840,342. This enables Heart to grow from 12 to 17 school sites during the 2017/18 school year.

Heart Math Tutoring Receives Apparo’s Mission Possible Economic Opportunity Grant
05.03.2017Heart was awarded a $60,000 cash and pro bono contribution from Accenture at Apparo’s ConnectivIT Ball, presented by Microsoft! The award is Apparo’s first Mission Possible Economic Opportunity Award. A panel of CIO judges chose a technology project that will impact economic opportunity in Charlotte. Heart will use the award to digitize its student and tutor information, ultimately improving student outcomes and program scalability. Heart impacts a variety of factors of economic mobility. Heart Math Tutoring Kicks Off Spring Funding Initiative
03.22.2017Heart Math Tutoring kicks off its spring funding initiative today with a boost from The Leon Levine Foundation, who has awarded Heart a $350,000 capacity-building grant! The grant is payable over three years as Heart offers one-on-one tutoring to more students, scales its work, and becomes more sustainable. $130,000 of the grant goes towards Heart’s current funding initiative, which seeks $880K to partner with 18 schools in the 2017/18 school year.
