Heart Math Tutoring Launches Volunteer Drive for Upcoming School Year

We are excited to kick off our 2016 Volunteer Recruitment Drive today! Our goal is to recruit volunteers to be tutors for 600 students (~700 tutors) across 12 schools between now and Sept. 16. Choose your school and time here.

Staff Spotlight: Amy Sinclair, Development Director

07.11.2016 Heart has hired Amy Sinclair as development director, responsible for leading Heart’s fund development strategy, including work with foundations, corporations, donors, and funding partners.

A Los Angeles native, Amy moved to North Carolina in 2008 to attend Davidson College. She graduated with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. Before joining Heart, Amy was the Manager of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Charlotte Rescue Mission. She is passionate about leading Heart’s development efforts during this season of growth.

Heart Math Tutoring Fills Critical Gaps in Math for Hundreds of CMS Students

Heart is proud to announce that in the 2015/16 school year, 99 percent of Heart students met program growth goals in math, growing in two or more building block concept areas. On average, students doubled the goal – growing in 4.6 concept areas. The goals were set with guidance from math specialists at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and UNC Charlotte.
