Heart Celebrates 10 Years and Counting with Keynote Speaker Event

On Thursday, February 22^nd, Heart Math Tutoring celebrated 10 years of service in Charlotte with a special keynote speaker event at The Revelry North End; thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate! We loved having the opportunity to gather with Heart tutors, donors, teachers, staff, and community partners to celebrate your collective impact and hear keynote speaker Deborah Peart’s inspirational words:

“We want to make sure that students recognize that they can embrace mathematics as a part of their identity they never have to lose…They can think big, they can dream big, and math won’t be the obstacle that keeps them from becoming whatever it is they want to be.”

Together we celebrated 6,270 students, 115,071 hours of tutoring, 345,213 stickers, and millions of high fives and smiles in Heart Math Tutoring over the past 10 years. Most importantly, we highlighted student growth in math skills and confidence, best described in the words of teachers in this video by Hunter Ives Productions:

This 10-year milestone is possible because of Heart supporters’ dedication to furthering Heart’s mission that all students develop a strong foundation in math and the enthusiasm for academics needed for long-term success. Thank you to the over 400 friends of Heart who joined us at the celebration!

The work does not end here. The need continues for student support, and we are ready to multiply the Heart community’s impact moving forward! A few next steps:

• Become a tutor!- Over 1,400 volunteers are needed annually. Sign up and send your friends our way!
• Donate!- Heart’s work costs around $1,500 per student each year. We are so grateful for those who make tutoring possible through their giving.
• Join the Team!- Please apply for and share HMT job openings, including the National Partnerships Manager position open currently.
