COMMUNITY FEEDBACK REQUESTED BY NCDHHS – ADD MATH

The NC Department of Health and Human Services released a draft statewide Early Childhood Action Plan and is asking for community feedback in writing by November 30th. The goal of the plan is to improve early childhood outcomes across NC for children ages 0 – 8. Ten high level goals range from improving housing and hunger to health and academics. Today, UNC Charlotte and TIAA partnered to host the “Making A Difference in the Community” Luncheon to honor Charlotte-area Difference Makers in recognition of TIAA’s centennial anniversary. Heart Math Tutoring 2018 Annual Report

In FYE 6/30/2018, nearly 900 Heart Tutoring students received one-on-one tutoring, and almost every single student showed measurable and meaningful gains in their math skills. 98% met growth goals on pre- and post-assessments. Heart Math Tutoring receives $1,250,000 from Albemarle Foundation and Bank of America

Albemarle Corporation and Bank of America recently announced a $20 million investment in Charlotte-area nonprofits to drive local economic mobility!

The companies worked together to select Charlotte nonprofits that will receive funding allocated over the next five years. Each nonprofit focuses on at least one of three key areas: early child care and education; college and career readiness; and family and child stability.
