Meet HMT Program Coordinators Cara Maddox & Heather Smith!

PCs are present at every tutoring session at their school and their role is to ensure the delivery of high-quality tutoring by providing support to both students and tutors. Thinking about becoming a tutor? Please do! Heart Math Tutoring is excited to serve 50 students in the 2023/24 school year with the help of 60 volunteers giving just one hour per week!

To become a tutor, simply select your preferred tutoring time and location on the Winston-Salem sign-up form, and we’ll pair you with a student! Tutoring begins in early October. Looking for the sign up to startup process for another location? See our posts for Charlotte and Charleston!

2022/23 Program Results

We are excited to announce 2022/23 Charlotte program results and celebrate a successful year of tutoring! In 2022/23, 1,241 volunteer tutors contributed nearly 19,000 hours of 1:1 tutoring sessions. Donors and funding partners provided resources for 982 students at 26 schools to receive high quality, individualized tutoring at no cost to their families. Most importantly, Heart students persevered to build math skills and confidence!

With the recent end of the 2022-23 school year, we want to celebrate another year of tutoring by highlighting one of the many Heart Tutors that play an essential role in supporting Charlotte students. Heart Math Tutoring’s New Partnership with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Featured on Local News Station

Heart Math Tutoring is excited to be partnering with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools (WS/FCS) for the 2023/24 school year after unanimous approval from the WS/FCS School Board. The new partnership was recently featured on Winston-Salem’s WXII 12 News.
