HMT Board Spotlight: Dr. Kim Schroeder

      Dr. Kim Schroeder brings a wealth of experience to her current role as Associate Superintendent of Learning and Teaching with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Her 25-year career in education began as a high school English teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, where she became a National Board Certified teacher and a College Board Advanced Placement Reader. Dr. Schroeder then transitioned to administrative roles in Union County Public Schools, serving as an assistant principal, principal and EPIC Grant Director. Heart Math Tutoring and Promising Pages partner to spread the joy of learning

Did you know, in Charlotte more than 60,000 children are growing up in “book deserts,” meaning homes with few or no books? Local nonprofit Promising Pages is working to combat this by collecting and sharing new and donated books with under-resourced families and schools across Charlotte. Heart Math Tutoring is excited to share that we’ve partnered with Promising Pages to allow each Heart student in Charlotte to take home two math-themed, grade-level appropriate books before winter break!

2025 Annual Report

We are excited to share Heart Math Tutoring’s 2025 Annual Reports, highlighting student results, donor impact, and more across the Charlotte, Charleston, and Winston-Salem communities. In the 2024/25 school year, our generous donors, dedicated tutors, and community partners worked to provide one-on-one tutoring to over 1,400 elementary students across 29 schools in the Carolinas. Thank you to those who gave their time and resources to help ensure all elementary students build a strong foundation in math and the confidence needed for long-term success!
