2023/24 Volunteer Recruitment Kickoff- Sign up to tutor today!

July 24, 2023

Heart is excited to officially begin recruiting and training 1,500 volunteers to partner with 1,300 students in the 2023/24 school year! Heart tutors will support students at 26 Charlotte area elementary schools with building foundational math skills and gaining the confidence needed for long-term academic success.

With just 1 hour per week from October to April, you can make an impact! Heart provides everything you need – tutor training, a fun, hands-on curriculum, and an on-site Program Coordinator for support. If you are local to Charlotte, we would love to have you join us in-person each week; however, four of our partner schools will utilize Heart’s virtual tutoring model for out-of-state volunteers and those who are not able to tutor in person. View HMT’s website to find the school location and tutoring time that works best for your schedule!

“Volunteering with Heart Math Tutoring has been a great experience. You can really see how the program benefits each child in not only their math abilities but also increases their confidence.”

Already signed up to tutor? Please help Heart spread the word about volunteering! See Heart’s “Recruit a Tutor” page for ideas on how to encourage your friends and colleagues to become a tutor.

In addition to our Charlotte program, HMT has recently expanded to offer tutoring in two additional cities: Charleston, SC and Winston-Salem, NC. If you or someone you know is interested in tutoring in one of these cities this fall, you can select your preferred school and tutoring time on the Charleston signup form or the Winston-Salem signup form on our website!
