It All Adds Up: End of the Year Results are IN!

As we head into the summer, we are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding academic progress made by nearly 1,000 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) students during the 2018/19 school year. With an increase in students and schools from the 2017/18 school year, tutors were able to help even more students surpass their goals and end the year on yet another high note.

The Tutor Referral Contest – June 1-30

EVERYBODY can be a Heart Tutor! To kick off recruitment season we are challenging YOU to recruit more tutors through a friendly contest so that we can serve more schools and more students.

No matter the winner, in the end, it all ADDS up to more Heart!

The Rules

• For each new tutor you recruit, you receive 1 point for your 2018-19 school.
• Whichever 2018-19 school team recruits the most new tutors will receive a special prize for their 2019-20 students. 
• New tutors must sign

Heart Celebrated Math Day with Fox 46 News

On March 6th, 2019, Heart Math Tutoring celebrated World Math Day with Fox 46 News. Good Day Anchors Jason Harper and Paige Fehling hosted Executive Director Emily Gaffney and Heart Tutoring tutor at Montclaire Elementary, Charles Duckett. Heart Math Tutoring 2018 Annual Report

In FYE 6/30/2018, nearly 900 Heart Tutoring students received one-on-one tutoring, and almost every single student showed measurable and meaningful gains in their math skills. 98% met growth goals on pre- and post-assessments. Program Starts Week of October 1st!

Heart Tutoring Volunteers –

We are excited to begin the program the week of October 1st! Due to school cancellations and Hurricane Florence, Heart Tutoring will be delayed one week from what was previously communicated so that we can finish program pre-assessments. The program will begin the week of October 1st with orientation, and tutoring will begin the week of October 8th.
