Heart Math Tutoring and Promising Pages partner to spread the joy of learning
December 18, 2025
Did you know, in Charlotte more than 60,000 children are growing up in “book deserts,” meaning homes with few or no books? Local nonprofit Promising Pages is working to combat this by collecting and sharing new and donated books with under-resourced families and schools across Charlotte. Heart Math Tutoring is excited to share that we’ve partnered with Promising Pages to allow each Heart student in Charlotte to take home two math-themed, grade-level appropriate books before winter break!
Students have loved getting to choose their books! One Program Coordinator shared that a first-grade student kept saying, “no way!” in disbelief when told about the books and winter math games taking place during their tutoring session that day.
Thank you, Promising Pages, for providing this opportunity for Heart students to build their home libraries and grow both their math and reading skills.
