Be a Part of the Equation- Volunteer as a Heart Tutor!

Today, Heart Math Tutoring kicks off our annual volunteer recruitment campaign with the goal to partner 1,600 volunteers with 1,500 students in the 2025/26 school year in Charlotte, NC, Charleston, SC, and Winston-Salem, NC! This school year, Heart tutors will support students at 31 schools across the three cities with building foundational math skills and gaining the confidence needed for long-term academic success.

With just one hour per week, you can be a part of the equation that results in positive education outcomes for elementary students. Heart provides everything you need – tutor training, a fun, hands-on curriculum, and an on-site Program Coordinator for support. Tutoring is meaningful and fun for both students and tutors: in the 2024/25 school year, 97% of students who completed Heart’s program across the Carolinas grew in two or more mathematical concept areas, meeting program goals, and 94% of all Heart tutors rated their volunteer experience as positive.
