Volunteer Recruitment Kickoff – Volunteers needed in the 2022/23 school year!

Heart Math Tutoring’s Volunteer Recruitment campaign is officially underway! Heart is partnering with 26 schools across Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools during the 2022/23 school year with a goal to serve 1,300 students. To achieve this goal, Heart is recruiting 1,500 tutors to work with students, in-person and virtually, during the school year. One hour per week can make an extraordinary impact in a student’s life!

Heart is offering its core, in-person model in 18 schools across the district, and we hope that our Charlotte-based tutors will sign up to volunteer in-person. Our virtual model will be offered in 8 schools and is a great fit for those who live outside of Charlotte or whose schedules involve heavy travel.

If you’ve already signed up to tutor, we would love your help in recruiting volunteers! Each additional volunteer means another student will receive high-quality, individualized math support.  Our user-friendly recruitment materials provide flyers, videos, and language you can use in an email, text message, or newsletter. A Heart employee would also be happy to host an information session for organizations with which you’re involved. Should that be of interest, please contact marylauren.bishop@heartmathtutoring.org.

Last year, 97% of 930 Heart students met program growth goals in math. On our year-end survey, 98% of Heart volunteers rated the experience positive, and 95% of tutors reported that they saw improvement in their students’ confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
